Oh come now, must you make these questions too easy? =]

But since this question has me thinking about Christmas Eve, it's still so hard to believe that it'll have been five years we've been together. It doesn't even feel like five years, rather it still feels practically like the first. I think that's the one thing I do love about this relationship; the fact that it always feels as if though we're on a fresh start, if only because we're both always willing to try new things. And it always feels as though I can't really picture myself with anyone else, it's as if we've both always been together. It would feel too odd to be without her, and I already know she feels the same. She tells me in all kinds of ways. But it's still a bit humbling to think that this all started when she decided to tell me that she liked me, and we both awkwardly agreed to give a relationship a try. So yes, I would say that the love of my life, who would later become the mother of my children and a fiercely loyal friend and confidante would be the best gift I've ever received to date. And I can only thank God every other day for it.

Just to get that negative entry off the top of my page, here...

I thought I would announce to everyone promptly about our trip to Spring Valley tomorrow! =D Everyone's a bit excited to get out of the house, to say the least. The reason we're going, you ask? Well, we need to go to pick up a new giraffe. Luckily Zri came across the auction in the newspaper, and it seemed like a splendid idea to get a new giraffe!! Our old one was just about worn out. It had a couple of stains, and it seems quite apathetic to the foliage we offer it nowadays. Emb had to help me load it into the truck, but regrettably we had to throw out our old giraffe at the dump. D= We're sorry.

Hopefully tomorrow's excursion will bring us back a new giraffe, and along with it brand new memories. =D

Just a quick entry to get this particular opinion off of my chest. And yes, I know that entries have already been made pretty much all around regarding this, but I thought I would add my two cents, as it were.

Making the best of one's circumstances by joking about it is one thing, I suppose. (Although I still don't like Zri joking about being sick like this, considering the possibilities of WHAT she could be sick with.) I can live with it, I've seen people make the best of their situations by joking about it, Couto's mother joking about the eye she lost in that terrible accident being a fine example. I can understand that.

But honestly? How wrong, and how terrible of a person can you be to wish death or illness on someone? I happen to think that it doesn't get anymore wrong than that. I don't care how horribly you get along with someone (considering that forgiveness is seen in a virtuous light for a reason). To wish death, illness or misfortune on anyone is wrong. And believe you me, karma, God, whatever you choose to believe in, it all has a way of coming around and insuring that everyone will get what they deserve, you and your spiteful mind alike.

Not going to sling labels and call anyone a monster or 'horrible' for it, but I'm just going to say that I don't happen to think 'I WISH ____ WOULD GO DIE IN A CAR ACCIDENT ;D' or 'I WISH _____ WOULD GET CANCER, LOL SHE'S SO WEIRD AND HORRIBLE AND STUPID' are funny in the least. It's not clever, it's not nice, and more importantly it's not moral in any instance. Before engaging in those spiteful, terrible thoughts (not to mention arrogant, as if somehow you're fit to serve death as judgment) consider this: would you be able to live with yourself if your sentence was carried out? What would you do if you found out that person had died the way you wished them to? What would you do if you found out that person WAS raped or murdered or whatever you would wish to happen to them, just because they annoy you, or just because you don't like them? If you would feel no slight of remorse for the above scenarios, I think you need to re-evaluate your view on humanity and where you stand on contributing to it altogether, but that's just this particular man's opinion.

Perhaps I'm only speaking out after a similar sentiment was voiced about someone I care about, but my disposition was the same even before then. I just didn't expect to need to voice it until tonight.

Although while I'm on the topic, I'll go on a bit of a tangent I suppose.

Forgiveness is a Godly trait for a reason. If you truly expect not only God, but everyone around you to forgive you for all the less-than-saintly acts you've committed (and anyone who dares to say they're a golden exception to this? You're a liar. Just saying.), where do you get off not forgiving someone else for their slights or mistakes? Some are harder to let go of, I know, believe me. I've had to forgive a few people in particular for some terrible wrongs against me, but I'm also aware that as humans we're bound to make mistakes. We're bound to say and do things we don't mean, maybe we even do mean it. But I still believe entirely in hating the act, not the person behind it. The person behind it may not be good for us (mentally or spiritually) to associate with, and certainly not good for us to welcome back into our lives for the danger they're capable of putting us in, but in wishing death or illness or vengeance on them, I have to ask: how are you any different?

An act begins as a thought after all, and is it not improbable to say that we remain as 'good' people when we have malicious thoughts? Just another pondering, there.

I can understand bouts of anger where we might say things we don't mean, where we might say we want to do things we otherwise never would. Believe me, I do understand that people can grind our nerves enough where we wish things on them that we don't mean if only because anger's a strange emotion for what it stirs within us. I also understand that some acts are harder to let go of than others, and for that, only time will heal the wounds and bring about the peace we need to forgive the person behind the act. Humans aren't God, where asking and true penance are all that are needed. Humans take longer to heal and they're infinitely more fragile, so I do understand where one might be coming from in cases of abuse and the like. I especially understand not letting the person back into your life, and for what might be wrong with them mentally or spiritually or what have you, it's the best decision to go by. But I still believe that forgiveness will at least help you to overcome the wounds, and help you to feel better about your humanity, indefinitely.

My problem lies in people thinking it's FUNNY to wish these horrible things on other people just out of spite, nothing further to it. Just childish spite, as if that in itself is enough to wish those horrible things on someone. By no means should you ever jokingly say things like the above examples as if you mean them. You should take that time to remember that death, rape, suicide, terminal illness, things like that are irreversible sentences. And if you lack the conscience to care when the person you target falls victim to your sentence of choice, I suppose you should just bypass this entry.

I won't wish anything on you, but I will say that I don't approve of your disposition, and further I'm fairly sure I don't wish to know you.

I should probably get back to that movie review project. xD Good lord, I only just now noticed how much the movies have piled up, and I'm probably never going to be able to catch up to all of them since we just keep adding more and more onto the list. I'll try, but just don't expect me to review EVERY film on the now gargantuan list that's nearly impossible to keep up with.

Right, so today I went out to Charlotte with the family, and it was a pretty grand time if I do say so myself. xD We went to Discovery Place, albeit a bit pointlessly since it was going to close in 45 minutes but well. 8D The point is we were there, which Joey was infinitely excited by, and even Ri found the artifacts and history fascinating enough. All kinds of interactive and entertainment-based exhibits, and since we brought him along Edd was definitely overjoyed to spend his afternoon after school with us there. xD

As I said, there were plenty of interactive exhibits in the section we spent our precious time in; the Odyssey Marine voyage section, which was basically a cover-to-cover section about what the Odyssey recovered from shipwrecks in the Mediterranean. Had the candlesticks, gold coins, ceramic pipes, valuable treasures that were recovered from wreckage up to two thousand years ago. Fascinating finds, and the interactive exhibits were a load of fun. One of which happened to be hurricane tubes, where you stand in a little isolated capsule-tube while the wind machine blasting through the vents in the side and top simulated the windspeeds of category one hurricanes. (That's roughly wind up to ninety miles per hour, if memory serves me right.) I loved how Zri and Fio both simply stood in their tubes, the wind sweeping their hair and ballooning their baggy clothes, all they while they stood there and waved and grinned about it. xD Another one was where Ri learned how to navigate, though the touch screens weren't really responsive to his touch, to which he threw his arms up and proclaimed his crew dead to him until Spain could develop better touch screens.

Another one happened to be these ropes hanging from a wall, along with complex diagrams displaying how to tie certain kinds of sailor's knots. For some odd reason, no one could figure out how to tie the sailor knots. I managed to figure them out, to which my daughter responded promptly; "Daddy knows EVERYTHING!"

XD Wouldn't go that far, but I've got to say I've yet to find any qualms with being my daughter's hero. And Ri was fairly amused by that too, to say the least ("Yeah, I guess he's pretty smart, we'll give him that. =]."). The only downside was that a good lot of the museum was shut down for renovations; hopefully we'll be able to go back when it's a tad more expansive. (But at least that knocked a few dollars off the price, so can't really complain, can I?) But we saw the recovered artifacts and relics from the Odyssey Marine voyage, played with a few of the entertainment exhibits, in summation it was all pretty cool stuff.

We went out to Chili's a bit later for lunch, where our little Joey here spat her first curseword. xD Which we're guessing she got from a movie, since even Zri knows to tone down her language when Joey's around, but whatever the case I had to fight to keep a straight face when telling her not to say that word again. And of course after we told her that it was a nasty word, she began to cry because, quote, 'I was bad!! I was bad, I used bad words!!' I had to pull her out of the high chair to calm her down, honestly she's too adorable for her own good. XD I swear, it's next to bloody impossible to be any sort of angry with her, and I think she gets that from her mother if anything (here's to hoping she doesn't use that to her advantage in the near future. *COUGH* 8D). She made her brief 'atonement' by eating all her vegetables, and Zri pointing out that one of the waiters looked like Steven Segall aside, while Robyn plotted to steal another couple's baby aside for a birthday present, that was that. 8D

Came back home only to get ready for 'cowboy church', which is basically an informal sermon in equally informal circumstances (given in a horse barn where the congregation sits as well as sings, and you even have a few dogs wandering among the parishioners).

Although of course before going up to the sermon, Zri had to change her clothes since her shirt got a few stains on the front of it (which I didn't understand the point of, since it's almost a guarantee that you'll get dirty at cowboy church anyway). She put on the tie-dye pirate shirt from Myrtle Beach that she received from Couto... ...To which I had to point out that a shirt that says 'Loose Women!!' on it probably wasn't the best choice to wear to a church sermon, informal or not. 8D Life sure is funny that way sometimes. n.n

But it was actually a good and meaningful sermon, mostly revolving around the things God wishes us to remember in all tenses of our lives. Even Zri agreed that it was a good sermon that focused less on the hopeless conflict of man and more on the positive messages the Bible taught. That was good news to me, considering that that's usually Zri's main qualm with the Bible and fundamental Christianity to begin with, so I was plenty happy to see that the message of God was being taught still through peaceful and sane means. Good sermon, though... We could have done without having to nearly sink to the knee in mud on the way out.

But overall, Zri will probably write a much more detailed version of today in her journal so I should just stop. D= Either way, this was a great way to spend my day off. So there you go. 8D I'll probably write a bit more frequently, or at least I'll try, but for now you just get our day today.

Zri wrote a dream survey, so I thought I would steal. =D Everyone else should too, HINT HINT and all that. ...Oh dear, I typed that aloud, didn't I?

Basics

2) How old are you?: 24

3) What gender are you, WILLIS?: Male

4) What time would you usually say you go to sleep?: Usually around 11 or 12 on weeknights, and I stay up a tad later on weekends.

5) How heavy a sleeper are you?: Not that heavily, actually. xD Although I've been known to really conk out when I'm particularly knackered.

6) What's your usual bedtime routine?: Change into bedtime attire, brush teeth and hair, wash face, then do a bit of light reading or watch a bit of television before going to sleep.

7) Do you believe 3:00 AM to be the bewitching hour?: I'm not really sure. I've never really noticed anything odd or peculiar about 3:00 AM, so I might have to say no to that one.

8) What's the weirdest experience you've had at night?: I've had sleep paralysis before. 8D I'm not sure what WOKE me per se, but I remember lying there kind of awake but kind of not, because everything was kind of blurred and moving even though I had my eyes open and could sort of SEE and perceive that it wasn't real. The worst part though was that I couldn't move, it was just... ...eerie.

9) What's the worst way you've woken up?: I hit my head on the metal frame of our bed when Zri sneezed and kind of knocked me backward into it. =D THAT PARTICULAR CONCUSSION SURE WAS FUN.

10) How do you usually sleep? (Stomach, back, side...): On my right side.

11) Do you usually remember your dreams? (If not, why are you taking- LMFAO NEVERMIND JUST ANSWER OKAY GOD): Sometimes. I usually only really remember the most vivid or strange ones, or the most frightening if they turn out to be nightmares.

12) Are you usually YOU in your dreams? If not, who all have you been?: Yes, I'm usually me, although I have dreamt that I was another person in some instances. There have been a couple of instances where I dreamt that I was a man named Leonard, not sure where that comes from exactly, but in other instances I'm sort of unnamed. But most of the time, I'm me for the most part.

13) Have you ever had a lucid dream? If so, at what point did you realize that the dream is a dream?: Yes. It was a dream I was having where we had decided to go to Carowinds, but all the rides were coming apart even as everyone was riding them. And I realised, "Hey, this is ridiculous... ...it's a dream.".

14) Have you ever had a dream of deja vu? If so, describe it.: I've had dreams where my friends and I were doing things that we ended up doing out of the blue the next day, yeah. xD Nothing incredibly exciting, but the feeling is pretty neat.

15) Ever have the world famous falling dream? If so, did you wake when you hit the ground?: Yes. I woke JUST before I hit the ground, since I was actually falling out of bed at the time. I hit the floor before I hit the ground in the dream. I can't help it if my bed isn't twelve thousand feet up. D=<

16) Have you ever been killed in a dream? If not, do you fear as much, thinking there's something to the 'destruction of mind means destruction of body' logic? If so, DESCRIBE IT. 8D: Yes. I dreamed that someone was breaking into our house one Halloween, and I had gotten everyone upstairs and was trying to barricade the doors and windows before I called the police. Oddly enough everyone seemed content with trying to trick or treat at our house, even though I kept screaming through the boards I had nailed up that there was someone dangerous breaking into our house and that they needed to go get us help. All they would do is turn and walk away, which had me plenty angry and frustrated as I turned away to get to a phone with a hope that someone could prove useful to us. I ran into the kitchen, and a man adorned in a black cloak with a black hat was standing in my kitchen. He didn't have a face. He held up a pistol and shot me in the forehead. Woke up with the gunshot in my ears and a horrible headache, it was the strangest thing.

17) What's the best dream you've ever had? Did it make your day upon waking up?: That's a bit of a hard call. xD I've had a lot of really good dreams, but one of my overall favourites would probably be one where our entire family was vacationing out in a little cottage by the ocean. It was just so peaceful, which I really needed since I was a tad stressed at the time that I had this dream. But anyway, everything was just so... pristine and upbeat, the air literally permeated happiness and peace to a point where it was impossible to really feel sad. It was like the colours were literally brighter, everything was so simple, and I remember Joey collecting shells on the beach while I got to sit back and watch her. Ri and his wife Mint were there too, they were watching the sun set over the ocean and alongside them Zri and I watched it too. It's a bit corny to say that's the best dream I've ever had, I know, but it was just so peaceful and optimistic and I had it in a time when I seriously needed it, so perhaps the dream gets extra kudos for keeping me from going insane. I was practically smiling that entire day.

18) What's the funniest dream you've ever had? Did you wake up laughing?: xD It was kind of normal for any standard dream, but okay. It was a dream where Andi, Jon, Paul, Si, Marc, Fi and I were all sitting around Marc and Fi's old flat with a few drinks. (I remember that Si had a pet rabbit along with him for some reason, but that's not the point.) We just sat around talking about stuff we normally would, and we were about to go out and see if we could go to a movie together. Then for some reason, Fi stood up, picked a walking stick up out of the floor, and swinging it like a bat she knocked Jon's head clear off his shoulders. It wasn't violent, it just sort of THWACKED from his neck and then rolled off his shoulders (yes, that was the sound it made, think cheesy B-movie sound effect THWACK). Normally we'd have all been horrified at this, yes, but we didn't think too much of it for some odd reason because Si was all, "Ugh, AGAIN?" Andi even picked up Jon's head and used his teeth to open up a new bottle of Coke, and then she made SOME sort of joke... I can't remember what it was, it was something along the lines of "He used his TEETH for GOOD" or rather, and for some reason I thought it was the most hilarious thing I'd ever heard in my life. We all started cracking up, and I woke up laughing. It was half past three in the morning when I did wake, so I had to laugh really quietly to keep from waking Zri up. xD (One of those rare occasions she was asleep at a half decent hour.)

19) What's the coolest dream you've ever had? Were you disappointed when you woke up?: That's kind of a tough one to decide. xD I did have a particularly cool dream though that I was the man named Leonardo (Possibly DaVinci?) and I had designed this scope-shaped device that literally let me explore the minds of other people. It was so surreal, because I somehow managed to LIVE these people's memories out and I was feeling their emotions without actually feeling them myself. Their thoughts were actually WRITTEN into the air, sort of like an invisible text that only I could decipher, and I walked the streets of Florence or whatever city I was in, I think it might have been Florence... But all I had to do was look at someone and I could see everything inside their minds. Then of course I was chased down for it by these angry clergymen, but since I knew what they were thinking and what they were doing I managed to get away. 8D It was like something straight out of a movie, and I was somewhat disappointed when I woke up.

20) Have you ever had a dream within a dream? THAT'S DISORIENTING AS HELL, ISN'T IT? Either way if you have, describe it.: Not particularly, no. xD But I have dreamt of doing things that apparently I DIDN'T actually do. I dreamt that I actually FINISHED up a work day and was coming home, only to wake up in my bed the second I stepped through the front door. I was a tad irritated for most of that day.

21) Pick one of your dreams, and take a whack at analyzing it. You can use the intarwebs if so desired.: I had this one strange dream (I think it should have qualified for a contender in funniest dream personally, but who knows) where I was watching the news on the telly. The anchor's going on about this bizarre story where there was an out of control bus riding the wrong side of the road, and for some reason he'd abandoned his professionalism and started just ranting and screaming over this story. Then all of a sudden he looks up and starts screaming, and I see what looks like a missile hit him. The set blows up in a fiery explosion, and as morbid as it is, I just nearly double over gasping for air because I'm laughing so hard. (Although I'm not alone in this apparently. As Zri watches me type over my shoulder, she just started laughing at this dream too. xD) I thought it was the most hilarious thing I'd ever seen, nevermind the fact that the poor guy had been blown to Hell and back and he was left a scorched skeleton on the floor. And naturally Jen, Samuel, Fi, Marc and even Zri start yelling at me asking 'What the hell's wrong with you?!' but this just prompts me to keep laughing. xDD I still thought it was funny even when I woke up.

Now, as for the analysis... If Zri can call herself bad at dream analysis, then I'm infinitely worse. xD Personally, I think this was me scoffing in the face of all the pessimism and fatalistic views that the world insists on shoving down our throats. Nowadays on the news you find nothing but horrific stories and articles on who was raped, who was kidnapped, who was what and when and with what and when, you hardly ever see anything positive anymore. I think in this dream, I was self-creating that optimism by laughing in the face of something as horrific and fatalistic as witnessing someone getting killed nearly firsthand. And I was twisting against how the rest of the world seems to be going right along with this dark and clouded viewpoint by laughing despite everyone telling me to stop. Morbid as that is, well, no one ever said metaphors are always elegant or beautiful looking. Or at least that's my take on it, I could be completely wrong.

22) What's the worst nightmare you've ever had? (Second worst if you don't want to talk about it, though that's kind of a cop out since this was kind of to be expected on a DREAM SURVEY ADURR.): I had this nightmare back in the days when Zri and I were actually fighting before our wedding, and I'd been gone for roughly a week. Basically I dreamt that Zri had decided she wanted to marry me after all (arguably it started out as a good dream, since in that week I was gone I was convinced that she was going to say no and break things off with me) and it was the night before our wedding. To congratulate us, my friend Paul had decided to throw us a little party. (Those of you that know me, I think you know where this is going.) I was enjoying myself, happy as I had ever been, I remember I was EUPHORIC in this dream. Then Fiona told me that Zri had been seen with someone else. My entire night had been ruined in that instant. To think I was reliving one of the greatest heartaches of my life, almost word for word and action for action, that was the last thing I ever wanted from someone I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

I burst into that same guest room that Bailey and her other guy had been in, angry and ready to speak my mind on the matter. I didn't catch them in bed, no, but rather I walked into what seemed like an empty room while looking around for my allegedly unfaithful fiance. The door slammed behind me, and I was staring into the eyes of a strange man I'd never seen before. I turned and behind me, Zri was holding me at gunpoint. She shot me in both my kneecaps, insuring I couldn't run, while the strange man ran duct tape over my mouth to insure I couldn't scream. For the duration of what felt like the next few hours, they took turns just brutalizing me. Zri actually cut my stomach open with a carving knife, while the man had some fun with a bit of plastic, suffocating me until I nearly died only to lift it at the last second and let me catch my breath and come back only to begin the process all over again. The man began cutting off my hair, cutting off my eyelashes, right before he stabbed both my eyes out with the scissors. I could somehow still see, but barely. I just lied there, screaming, hoping to whatever God was listening that the pain would end soon because this dream felt so real that I could practically FEEL the agony in each motion. Zri twisted my arms behind me and snapped my elbows in the wrong directions, breaking both my arms. From my limp hands, the man began to cut off each and every one of my fingers. He sawed through them slowly with the serrated edge of a steak knife, I could actually FEEL him going through the bone and the skin on the other side of my fingers.

I could only scream and cry mutely, the pain too much to bear as she reached down and told me she loved me. (Strange way of showing it, right?) I could only stare back up at her through a veil of blood and slashed apart eyelids in disbelief, because this woman, this woman who was torturing me and insuring I suffered as much as a human being possibly could before he died was supposed to love me. I remember trying to plead with her through the duct tape. I begged and pleaded and cried, but she only smiled back. But then I noticed that her eyes were different. They were unfeeling and cold, as well as red instead of their usual green, and somehow I KNEW it wasn't really her. I felt something icy cold clench around my throbbing heart, as if it were being torn out. I knew it was her hand. I felt the most intense pain I could imagine as my heart was slowly torn out of my chest as it split open into a fault line. But I woke up before she actually killed me. I woke up damp in sweat, nearly screaming myself as I checked to make sure that everything was still attached and that I was where I'd been when I fell asleep.

23) What's the weirdest even-if-you-analyze-it-fifty-million-times-it-will-never-make-any-GODDAMN-SENSE dream you've ever had?: ...xD I once had a dream where I was inside this blank universe that would materialise anything I said aloud. It was strange, I would just say a word aloud and whatever I wanted would appear, but for some odd reason I wasn't quite happy with everything that appeared. That, and everything that would appear would literally transform into its exact opposite seconds later, or something I'd never said or thought, and I remember becoming extremely angry about it until I just screamed for it all to end and stop. The colours all brightened, and then literally everything just exploded into pieces and it all looked like a jigsaw puzzle where pieces of ground, sky, suns, moons, animals, paved roads, cars, it was all just floating around in a surreal vortex against pure white. I've never been able to figure out what it means, even though it was pretty neat I thought when I woke up and looked back on it. xD

24) What's the saddest dream you've ever had?: I dreamed once that Joey and Ri had both died somehow. This dream was a bit set back in the date, probably the forties or fifties, and somehow they'd been gunned down by these fanatics who were clearly out of their minds when they'd attacked the train station we were visiting. Zri and I had to go to their funerals, and as a part of some strange tradition we also had to be the ones to bury our children for some reason. We were the only ones there. And to see my little two year old girl still and quiet while finely dressed for her casket, to see my son who has done nothing but make me proud and happy with his arms folded across his chest, it brought me this sort of dead feeling inside my chest. I felt this ache in my chest and stomach as I ran my hand across Ri's cold brow and held Joey's hands that had by now frozen like marble. We hefted Joey's coffin out first and buried her, then we buried Ri, though how we had the strength to carry the caskets was a tad beyond me. In any case it was nighttime by the time we finished burying them and we just stood there at the side-by-side graves, silently crying. I could feel Zri trying not to, and I tried not to, but we both just stood there and cried against one another as the woods behind the cemetery we'd chosen began to ring and echo with both Joey's wailing and Ri's anguished screams, the same ones we remembered from the day they were shot.

I woke up at about half past five, unable to really feel much else but that same sadness that I recalled in the dream. I was trying to decide whether or not the dream had actually happened, since my eyes were burning and despite the time discrepancy, it all felt so real. The first thing I did was check Ri and Joey's rooms. I'd never felt more relieved to see them both.

25) Oh look, a question everyone's gonna lie on. =D Have you ever had a wet dream?: Yes, in the good ol' days of adolescence. =D Hurray, I'm of the honest minority!

26) Have you ever had a musical dream? (Where everyone sings or a song is playing, etc) If so, describe it.: xD Well I've had songs playing in the background of a couple of dreams, yes. I had 'Iris' by the Goo Goo dolls playing in the background of this one dream I had, though the dream was about a strange little cafe I ran so it could have very well just been the song I was playing over the speakers.

27) Any friends ever appear in your dreams? If so, what roles do they usually play?: Well yeah. xD They appear pretty often, and they play their usual roles as friends, I'd say.

28) What's the most violent dream you've ever had, nightmare or otherwise?: I'd say my answer to the nightmare question's a good contender. But I've had one dream in particular (I blame Superjail for this one) where I got Joey a pet bunny for her fifth birthday, and I was petting it, when as true to Superjail itself I tore its skin clean off. All that could be seen was the meat on it, the rabbit started squealing and howling in my lap, and I just dangled the skin in front of Joey smiling. She started smiling too. I say it's one of the most violent dreams I've had if only because I actually FELT the rabbit's skin resist my pull, I actually had to use all of my strength to effectively skin it alive. Not a dream I'm fond of.

29) What's the most romantic dream you've ever had?: Probably my favourite dream. =]

30) Have your fandoms or obsessions ever appeared in your dreams? If so, describe summa dem, ho.: Well, Superjail showed up in one thanks to the Bunny Love pilot. =| I've also had a Resident Evil dream, where Zri played the part of Claire and I played the part of Leon, and we were trapped in Salazar's castle (wrong game, I know, but it's a dream. Come on.) and we were fighting our way out past Ganados and zombies alike.

31) What's the earliest dream you can remember? (Dreams you had as a little kid or a toddler): I remember one dream I had when I was about three or four, where I was in the woods and all of a sudden a bear started walking up to me. It actually looked friendly, so I started going back up to it, and I started petting it. I scratched it behind the ears, around its muzzle, and it purred. (Yes, it purred. I was three or four years old and it was also a dream, leave me alone. xD) I was delighted by this, and continued petting it up until it suddenly slapped me with its paw. I was sent flying into a tree, and I woke up when I hit the ground. xD

32) What after-effects have your dreams had on you?: Going with Zri on this one, it depends on the dreams. Most of the time I'm able to just look at my dreams as they are, just dreams. I don't invest myself emotionally as much as Zri does, I'll argue, but my nightmares have been known to make me check on Zri or Joey or Ri to make sure they're all right. And I'll perhaps be a little bit more protective than I usually am with them, or I'll keep a closer eye on Joey, that sort of thing. Nothing too terribly different, though.

33) Have your dreams ever inspired you to make changes in your life?: They've told me to keep and retain my positivity throughout life, yes. I've been down the jaded and cynical road before, particularly during the whole Heather incident, but I didn't like what I was seeing and hearing so I kept up my faith and by counting the blessings I had I was able to generally become happier again. Even during darker times down the road, my dreams somehow manage to remind me of the promise I made myself to be strong and happy if not for myself, then for others around me. So I do have my dreams to thank for on a few counts.

34) Did you know that DREAMS ARE IN YOUR SLEEP????: WHY NO, I MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT.

35) What are some of the most common symbols in your dreams, do you think? (If you don't have an answer for this one just sing Numa Numa. Christ.): I'd say... The protector is one. I'm usually the defender in my dreams, whether I'm protecting someone I love, protecting a secret, defending my beliefs or myself, that sort of thing. I'd also say that the sun or light itself is another common symbol in my dream. It's rarely a cloudy day in my dreams. Not quite sure what that means, since again dream analysis was never my forte. But from what I can assess of common day symbolism, the sun represents warmth and a kind disposition, positivity and good health, so perhaps my subconscious and personality in general is just sunny.

36) How important are your dreams to you?: I'd say they're fairly important, I do pay attention to them and try to figure what they're trying to say if I feel like there's a meaning to what I just saw and experienced. I can usually tell when a dream is trying to tell me something, since I'll wake up a bit emotionally drawn to it or it stays on my mind, and I'm glad that I do figure these dreams out. I think I have them to thank for a lot more than I credit them for, since sometimes they've actually been medicinally entertaining or funny in a weird sort of way. xD

37) What's the most frustrating/infuriating dream you've ever had?: I can't really RECALL being INFURIATED in a dream... Well, I guess I was in that blank universe one and that Halloween one, but I guess the Halloween one would probably qualify here if only because I was SO pissed off that these people clearly SAW that we were in trouble but didn't care. But another infuriating dream I had I guess, would be one I had where everyone had become pale white and motionless where they were. It was like they'd had the life sucked out of them, and all they wanted to say was 'Leave me alone'. I went around to each of them, my friends, my family, and tried to ask them what was wrong and why they were acting this way. All they did was tell me to leave them alone, then they started ignoring me completely. I started yelling and screaming at them, I even began hitting them and pushing them over (some were standing, others sitting) but all they did was tell me to leave them alone. The I felt something icy grab me from behind, it took my stomach so badly I jolted awake. Strange, but I was immensely angry throughout that dream until the end.

38) Tell me about the most recent dream you can remember.: I was walking through woods on a sunny day, and reach the edge of it and it's overlooking a large morning-misted valley. It looked like the valleys I saw when we were traveling through rural Ohio, and I remember being so at peace there on the ledge and just breathing in a cool misty scent. It was so relaxing that I ended up throwing myself over the ledge. But rather than falling, I merely floated and drifted, staring down into the valley and watching everything below. It was actually a nice dream in my opinion, I liked it.

39) What do you think said dream meant?: Not really sure, except that maybe the defiance of gravity was telling me that not everything has to be so routine. Perhaps it's my subconscious' way of telling me to spice up my average life, which doesn't sound like a bad idea. I think we could stand another family outing, maybe a camping trip or something. I don't know, I'll have to think on it.

40) Do you believe dreams are important regarding day to day life?: Well, I kind of relayed that viewpoint in an earlier question, so yes. xD It's our mind's way of stringing up metaphors and plausible messages to carry with us into the waking world. It's just a matter of deciphering what you need to decipher, or at least such has always been my case. I've even read about how dreams can deliver messages or warnings, that they're correlated to real life happenings like say contracting an illness or something about to happen. So I would say that dreams are definitely useful in that regard, if nothing else.

41) Do you like your dreams?: I suppose so. =D They're unique to my personality and mind after all, so I don't think anyone else's would really fit, if that makes any sense. My dreams are mostly good anyway, so my subconscious is peaceful at least.

42) What do you think about before you sleep, most often?: I just think about everything good that happened today, think about what could happen tomorrow, eventually my mind drifts off into nonsensical things and I fall asleep.

43) Based on the different circumstances as well as the stretched definition of natural in the metaphysical world of dreams, do you think we essentially become different people when we dream? Taking also into consideration that in a good lot of dreams we sometimes do things that we would consider unthinkable in the 'waking world', do you think this abstract identity represents who we are on a subconscious level, or do you think it represents who we desire to be?: ...A good question. But I don't think the subconscious is really a DIFFERENT person entirely, no, nor is it someone we DESIRE to be as much as it may be a repressed facet of the personality. (For example, most people would never dare to confess to sexual dreams and much less would they confirm that they have sexual urges regardless of the fact that it's normal, so their subconscious releases all of that for them.) I believe it's just a side of us, rather than a differing entity, but that's just my opinion.

44) Has a fear or phobia ever stemmed from a dream? If so, name said fear/phobia and describe the dream.: xD No.

45) Have you ever 'storyline' dreamed? (Where the dream picked up the next time you slept where it left off from last time) If so, describe it.: No, can't say I have. xD At least none that I can remember. That would be intriguing though!

46) Have you ever shared a dream with someone? If so, describe it.: xD You'll have to refer to Zri's answer on that one. I don't even remember it that much myself, but I do remember I was dreaming about visiting a Russian palace in the middle of winter, and out of nowhere the Looney Tunes were playing for the grand Czar, which I was confused as all about since I don't typically dream of things like that. xD And yes, I remember being chased by these grim reaper things adorned in red robes, I also remembered that their feet never touched the ground. I also remember the flying, yes, and I remember at one point the sky and air around us was a sort of dark purple colour. That dream was just flat out weird. xD But it was neat to dream in different 'styles' as it were.

47) Do you believe the theory that we've all done astral projection in our sleep? That when we dream of say, being in London or Paris, we actually projected ourselves there?: It's possible, I think. After all, we don't really KNOW what we do with all that potential energy inside our minds when we're asleep, so it wouldn't surprise me to learn that we're putting it to use in traveling to other places while our body is at rest.

48) In that regard, have you ever had a potential 'projection' dream? Describe it.: I did dream about walking through a beautiful field not too far from a white-sand beach once, sunny day, everything was near perfect and beautiful. I don't know where I was, but I think that might have been a projection, since I don't really remember anything dream-like happening there.

49) Have you ever had a dream where you were an animal? Describe it.: I used to dream that I was a crow in flight, a while back. Nothing much really happened, I would just fly through the air and see everything from the bird's point of view. Occasionally I would land in a field and just sort of admire the brisk feeling of the day, since it was usually fall in these dreams. Pretty neat, to say the least.

50) And finally, ever had a sex dream with someone else or a stranger?: No.

No, for the simple reason that I enjoy exercise where I can manage! For the most part, the future has distilled down to convenience rather than what might actually be the right way of doing things, specifically regarding ourselves and our health. I don't particularly share that. People in general have become so impatient, everyone expects results instantaneously enough as it is where if they aren't hastily pursuing unneeded cosmetic surgery, they're peddling which product gets results faster while disregarding the thought that perhaps losing five stones in two days is unhealthy as well as unrealistic.

It's almost a sad thing, how everyone's willing to abandon the concept of hard work and the strengthened sense of focus and discipline that can only roughly come with an actual exercise regime. Though as I'm sure you've figured by now, it's not merely exercise that worries me concerning instantaneous results. Don't misunderstand, I'm all for medical advances that work on ailments and illnesses more quickly than painful weeks of rehabilitation, I'm all for finding treatments for said ailments and illnesses that work more quickly than which would be considered orthodox. If this pill were, say, to be used as a sort of therapy for those who are for whatever reason disabled or otherwise handicapped and unable to exercise like that of regular people, then I could see the pill working in that moderation.

But the instance I'm speaking of, the matter of exercise relying strictly on desire, on work ethic, discipline, focus, self-respect, and determination shouldn't be handed off to be substituted by pills and the insubstantial 'easy way'. Even for those who don't consider themselves atheletic, there's a wide array of sports and activities out there from walking to bungee jumping to rock climbing to playing a simple game of catch with a beach ball! I'm sure of all of that these unatheletic types could find some way to enjoy themselves!

Perhaps my viewpoint could be seen as old fashioned, but I just don't see taking a pill building character as well as the body and mind as well as actually going outside for a two mile run. Honestly, I don't think a pill could ever replace a good lot of the running, weight lifting and sparring that I love to do when I've the free time. For those of us able to manage exercise on our own, I suppose it's a matter of whether or not you believe cutting corners is all right. Personally, I don't.

Infidelity Made Easy! =D

Right, so under a bit of surfing I came across the site Ashley Madison.com. Apparently, it's a dating site for married couples to have "casual encounters" and "discrete affairs", the site is even kind enough not to disclose itself on the credit card bill as anything more than an innocuous charge, in polite courtesy of the site's users. Despite what the site promotes, it's actually surprisingly popular from what I've seen, though even after reading the reasoning of the site's creator and president Noel Biderman (who is, ironically, married himself) I'm not entirely sure why. After looking a bit further into it, one of the profiles even has the audacity to ask for "an open, trusting and ongoing affair", which from any logical perspective is no different than asking for a unicorn. Who knows, perhaps this is me just being old fashioned with my confounding old fangled ideas of monogamy.

Perhaps, if people are really starting to move beyond the ideals of faith and keeping some silly old promise made in front of their loved ones and in front of God, I really am old fashioned and falling behind the times. But I think I can safely say that I'm thankful to be one of the gnarled old patriarchs of our day and age.

I'll be honest, I simply don't understand how anyone can justify infidelity. As someone who's BEEN cheated on, I can safely say that I would rather be left than have to go through anything like that again. And I can safely say that I wouldn't wish or inflict that sort of unforgivable pain on anyone, much less the one I love whether they could find out about it or not. The site's not entirely to blame for the actions of those who choose to use it, I'll give Biderman that much. But I never understood the appeal of infidelity or what runs through the heads of those who choose to act that way. (I refuse to call it by its more elegant terminology; an affair. Somehow I can't help but think that if people referred to it by its more derogatory and infinitely realer terms, cheating and infidelity, the action itself wouldn't catch so much fascination.) Many people argue that monogamy is unnatural for humans, that as animals it's our instinct to reproduce with as many mates as possible, but I can't help pointing out that unlike animals who mate out of instinct with no concept of reason or thought behind their actions, humans can choose and make their decisions.

Humans are animals, sure, when stripped of their sentient thought and of their ability to consider or even feel emotional inclinations toward other people or the people they're with. Thus, I never really understood trying to justify that sort of thing with primal arguments as if somehow making us out to be no better than baboons will excuse our actions. If you can justify infidelity with the fact that you're human and thus an animal, fine, then I can justify territorial urges and violence, killing the weakest in my family, or killing anyone who tries to come onto my wife with the fact that I'M an animal. After all, killing to defend their mates or territory, such brutality and savagery are all animal instincts too, are they not? Not to mention the fact that monogamy DOES in fact exist between animals like beavers, otters, wolves and foxes sort of punches holes in that argument.

In short, our DNA isn't some magical excuse for actions we use human-unique sentient thoughts and sense of reason (or lack of) to make.

And honestly, if your marriage or your relationship is in trouble, the most cheating can be considered as would be the quickest and most painful way to end it all. Whatever happened to counseling, or if push comes to shove simply going to a lawyer and getting things sorted out if it really came to all that pain and irreconcilable grief in being with the one you married? I can understand leaving for inconsolable reasons such as the good of your children if they're being abused or neglected, if you're being abused or neglected yourself, if the person you married has become someone else entirely under new inhibitions inflicted by drug or alcohol addiction, but being unfaithful for the THRILL of it? Just because you can?

You can scream you love that person dearly until you're blue in the face, but the fact is thoughtlessly throwing aside their feelings for the sake of a thrill or a one-night stand has the brutal truth of the notion 'Actions speak louder than words' tolling like church bells. Or at least, I simply don't understand why anyone would go through with it, or how anyone could live with themselves taking advantage of their loved one's trust even if it was guaranteed that they would never be caught.

Who knows, as a man that's BEEN there, BEEN cheated on - even better, I CAUGHT them in the act myself - perhaps I'm just bitter and resigned to ways that were SO 1900's.

But now that my sentiments are cleared up, I suppose I can also see why people would do something like cheat when it's so glorified by sites like this. The site's not completely to blame, the users are the ones who CHOOSE to cheat after all, and if it wouldn't be that site then other avenues like Facebook or Myspace or what have you would be taken if the cheater was really so determined to be unfaithful. But helping other liars lie, helping other cheaters cheat while proudly waving the philosophical creed that 'Life is short, have an affair!' like some kind of flag... I can't say I really find it admirable that a married man himself would take the unhappiness of others as a cornerstone in what I'm sure is gradually becoming a lucrative business.

It's just a shame that as much as Western culture flaunts the constitution of marriage, in a painful twist of irony it showcases turning said marriages into nothing more than shams and titles that can be shafted in lieu of "being chained" to the one you said you would love forever in the eyes of God, and in front of your most trusted loved ones for the rest of your life. But Heaven forbid that I condone that sort of thing, since it seems to be a cursed and old fangled idea of the past for fops bearing top hats and monocles.

Not only is chivalry dying, but it seems common decency is drowning right along with it.

And that would be my bit of cynicism for the day! Sorry 'bout that, but it needed to be said.

Right, my usual bout of silliness aside, here's a song meme I picked up. I'm going to go ahead and post my playlist here as well, since it's come a longer way since the last time anyone saw it. But either way, enjoy!

Name ten (why not, I'm not lazy. 8D) songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. 1. "Adored" by Collective Soul - If I had remembered this song earlier, this would have hit the Mirrors soundtrack faster than you could blink. I'd say it definitely well describes our early and only growing closeness in a sense, and overall it's just a good song. I've come to like Collective Soul in the past couple of weeks. 8D And wouldn't you know that a good lot of them make me think of Zri, as well as the fact that they just write really good songs?

2. "Peppermint Twist" -- Joey Dee and the Starliters - Just a little silly 60's song I added to the list, if only because I've got a soft spot for old classics. =] I generally listen to it when I'm in a silly or obnoxious mood, it's a nice and optimistic little beat. It also brings Joey to mind indefinitely, if only because this song kind of matches her exuberant energy. 8D Love it.

3. "Starlight" -- Evans Blue - Bit of a contemplative song, really. Just sort of a song I listen to to induce nostalgia, really. I don't really tend to think of anything in particular when I listen to it; it kind of tends to stir up random memories from either way back when or from back when I first arrived here. Nice little song.

4. "Summer Shudder" -- AFI - ....Another nostalgia-based song, though the memories associated with it aren't ... ....necessarily pleasant. But in any case, the song got me through a couple of tough times so I liked having discovered it again after it's been a while and it's just kind of been on a repeat since then. Good song either way. 8D

5. "Sunshine" -- Keane - Another song that brings Zri to mind, but not just in the sense of our relationship. In a sense, it's kind of the song that brings our past conversations about things we endured and what we've been through to mind so I suppose, in that regard, it's another nostalgia song if anything. Keane is a bit on the bittersweet side though, so it's not that terribly surprising.

6. "Home" -- Collective Soul - Just a song that kind of picks me up indefinitely. =D Can't really help it if Collective Soul is just generally a really good band. And again, it sort of reminds me of when I first got here. Kind of astounding how quickly this place became home to me, so I guess it makes me think of everyone here.

7. "Forever Young" -- Rod Stewart - A song that makes me think of Ri, definitely. =] Can't help but be happy when I hear it, given how proud I am of Ri and all, considering that he's just a blooming brilliant person. It's a bit of an old song, yes, but again I've a soft spot for classics and overall it's a very nice and meaningful song. (In case you haven't caught the pattern; yes, just about everyone has a themesong in my eyes on my playlist.)

8. "Jaded" -- Aerosmith - Kind of a back in the old days song for Marc, Fiona, Andi, Si, Jon and me. It sort of used to be a group theme for us I guess, since I remember at one point or another we all had this song burned to a CD that we would blast at least once a day when we all saw each other. Might have been when we all generally took a nosedive romance-wise, when all of us were single, might not have been. In any case it's a good song so you can't blame us for that, can you?

9. "Shine" -- Collective Soul - Yes, another Collective Soul song. 8D But I just got through telling you that this group has recently caught my attention, so are you truly that surprised? Besides, it's yet another classic chart topper from back in the nineties, so don't be surprised if you recognise it!

10. "Twilight Time" -- The Platters - Just a cute little golden oldie, I think it might be from the sixties too! But in any case it's a nice little song to listen to while out in the garden, or just when evening is settling in. Again, it's a song that makes me think of Joey since she loves to play until generally it's too dark to see. I'm thinking of looking more into The Platters and The Drifters, since I've found that a good number of their songs I've found so far are either cute or they're just generally well written. Damn my lust for antiquity. D=

I'm Going to Be Published!!

You read right! I just received an e-mail from Little Brown publishing, and apparently they think that with a few changes to my manuscript, it'll be ready to hit the shelves as early as May! It's amazing what a couple of years of persistence and hard work can truly do, and needless to say that Zri is more than happy for me. But it doesn't end there! In fact, they've already got artists designing covers for my new book (entitled "Headlights" if anyone cares to know!) and I've already approved of this one. A lovely little lady by the name of Cherice Chapman did a bit of airbrushing and abstract photography for this one, and I think she did a marvelous job!

I DO hope you'll all enjoy Headlights as much as I enjoyed writing it! =D
